In my home daycare, I have a child who has Aspergers Syndrome, which is a high functioning form of autism. This child is also very over weight, and his parents and I have been working together to help control both his weight and his hyperactivity. Because I am a licensed daycare provider, I qualify to participate in a USDA Food Program, but this program has limited options on foods that I can serve for breakfast. The children must be served a bread (pancakes, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, etc), a fruit or fruit juice, and milk.
