Whey Protein Supplements

Whey protein is a high quality protein that is made out of cow's milk. Cow's milk is made up of two proteins. The major component is called the casein which comprises around 80% of the cow's milk and whey which comprises the rest of the 20% of protein present in cow's milk. They whey is standardized as gold standard protein as it has been scientifically proved to be the most nutritious protein of all the proteins that exists naturally. Its solubility is more than casein and hence it is regarded as higher quality protein than casein.

Whey Protein Verses Soy Protein

Whey protein has been considered the higher quality protein source for quite a while, but that's not necessarily true anymore. New studies suggest that both are on the same level, yet they're not altogether equal.

Soy protein comes from soybeans, hence the name. And being that it is a plant protein it has always been considered substandard. The recent studies have shown that soy protein has a significant effect on testosterone and muscle building.

Are Powder Protein Drinks Good for You?

When you pay a visit to your local health food store or even your grocery store these days, you can find a well stocked display of protein powders and protein drinks. It seems that almost every serious athlete and amateur body builder is taking one form or other of these protein enriched drink powders. Although in some cases protein drinks serve a purpose, are they really necessary for the normal person eating a healthy diet and more importantly are powder protein drinks good for you?

Protein and BCAAs: Two Supplements Are Better Than One

Life is all about choices. Burgers or hot dogs, boxers or briefs, squats or deadlifts. But does everything have to be either one, or the other? Maybe before, but not anymore. By harnessing the power of synergy, you can have the best of both worlds, and better results than you've ever dreamed of.

Guide to Taking Protein Supplements

Protein needs vary based upon the individual; the needs of an elderly woman verses a male athlete will vary greatly. Many are concerned with not getting enough protein, and some are concerned about taking in too much protein. Most meat-eaters do not have a problem getting enough protein unless they are unable to take in nourishment or are seeking high protein intake for building lean muscle mass. Vegetarians rely heavily on legumes, soy (such as tofu) and milk products for protein, but may need to find ways to supplement.
