It is basically the food that tells our cells to keep living and keep reproducing their itty bitty little selves. More importantly however are the essential amino acids we receive from our proteins. For those on a raw food diet do not despair. There are plenty of wonderful sources of protein available to you. Our cells really don't care whether they are eating plant proteins or animal flesh proteins. They just want to eat.
