It is not always easy trying to find a healthy breakfast cereal. If you browse the aisles in your supermarket, you will find that the vast majority of cereals are packed full of sugar and empty calories. Even many so-called "healthy" breakfast cereals provide little in the way of proper nutrition when you take a closer look at the nutrition information.
I recently came across Go Lean High Protein & High Fibre Cereal by Kashi. It cost $1.50 for a 14.1 oz (400g) box. The front of the box said that it contained crunchy fibre twigs, soya protein grahams and honey puffs. So I decided to give it a try. Before I tried the cereal, I looked at it and it did not look particularly appetising. The product looked a bit like cat treats, rather than a breakfast cereal. When I tried it, the taste was not very good. It was a rather bland mixture of crunchy ingredients with very little flavour to it.

This cereal lives up to its claims about being low in fat and high in fibre and protein, which makes this a good option for people who are trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.
Go Lean High Protein & High Fibre Cereal uses whole grains, which are ingredients that contain phytonutrients. These ingredients help to make you feel fuller for longer.
The sugar content in every serving is 6g, which is much lower than many cereals I have come across. But when you eat this cereal, it actually tastes sugar free. To help improve the flavour of this cereal, I would suggest adding fresh or dried chopped fruit. This will also improve the nutritional value of the cereal and it is one way to get your daily recommended intake of fruit.
Although I did not particularly like the taste of Go Lean High Protein & High Fibre Cereal by Kashi, I was impressed with the health benefits of this cereal and I will add fruit to it in future to help improve the taste. I would therefore recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a healthier breakfast cereal.
