Perfectly Protein Vanilla Chai Tea with Soy Protein: My Review

When I got to Florida without my blender or juicer I bought a couple of bottles of goodies. One was Perfectly Protein Vanilla Chai Tea with Soy Protein by a company which has been around since 1915 - Bolthouse Farms.

Bolthouse Farms is a family farm in the San Joaquin Valley of California. In 1915 the family started vegetable farming in Michigan. Now, on their fourth generation of farmers. They supply close to 80% of the fresh carrots in the United States.

They've expanded into a multitude of delicious fruit and vegetable juices including the most delicious, Perfectly Protein Vanilla Chai Tea with Soy Protein.

Perfectly Protein is made with soy milk; no preservatives; and nothing artificial. It is dairy free and has .13mg of caffeine in one service. A cup of coffee has 115 mg. It's flash pasteurized and cold clean room filled for longer shelf life and superior nutrition. From www.bolthousefarms.com "This process (flash pasteurized) quickly heats the juice to kill potentially harmful microorganisms, and then quickly cools the juice to a chilly 35 degrees all in a matter of seconds. This unique form of pasteurizing our juice allows us to provide you with a safe product, without losing the wonderful fresh taste of the juice."

There are no genetically engineered ingredients (also known as GMOs when talking about soy). This drink must be kept refrigerated. It's highly perishable and shake it well before serving.

One 8 ounce serving has only 160 calories. It's rich and creamy - I find half that amount quite satisfying. I wasn't tempted to drink the entire bottle. I drank it with my supplements every morning giving me the energy and good ingredients so I could make it through the day . There are 4 servings in this bottle although I find that this one bottle goes a long way.

There are only 3 grams of fat 1 of which is saturated; no cholesterol only 60 mg of sodium. It has 25 grams of carbs in one serving and although 21 grams of sugar are in this drink it's all found naturally in the ingredients. There are 10 grams of protein. You'll get 180% of the RDA of Vitamin C; 30% of calcium; and 15% of iron.

The ingredients are: Vanilla Chai Tea (Soy Milk, Brewed Green Tea, Natural Flavors, Vanilla Extract), Soy Protein Isolate, Apple Juice, and Carrageenan.

This bottle cost me $3.99 at Whole Foods.

I think Perfectly Protein Vanilla Chai Tea with Soy Protein is one of the most delicious, healthy drinks I've had. It has a vanilla and slight almond (though there are no nuts in it) flavor. I know what soy tastes like and I can taste it. If you hate tofu don't worry - this bares no resemblance to tofu except for its creamy light tan color. There's no aftertaste. Five stars!
